Jim's Bio
Jim became Clinical Lead for Paediatric Critical Care in November 2018 having previously been Chair of the Wessex Paediatric Critical Care Forum. Jim started his medical career undertaking surgical exams and aiming for an Orthopaedic career. Fortunately, after time spent in Australia, he started a Paediatric career on his return to Wessex and has maintained an interest in Paediatric Critical Care as a DGH paediatrician in Salisbury. Being able to contribute to Paediatric Critical Care across the TVW region and make improvements based on learning from critical care events as Clinical Lead for the PCC ODN is a great privilege, from which Jim is only occasionally distracted by his dogs, the golf course, the pub and family of four children.

Charlotte's Bio
Charlotte joined our ODN in March 2021 as the Lead Nurse for Surgery in Children. She qualified as a Children’s Nurse in 1996 moving from her home in Wales to the beautiful city of Oxford. After 10 years working in acute medicine and developing a passion for neurosciences nursing, she moved to work in paediatric specialist surgery becoming the Ward Sister of a busy Neurosciences and Specialist Surgical Unit where she worked until she joined our ODN. As well as providing neurosciences care (neurology, neurosurgery and neuro rehab), the unit also provided ENT, ophthalmology and plastic surgery and was one of only four national centres performing craniofacial surgery and was a regional centre for cleft lip and palate surgery. She first became involved with the ODNs during the Safe and Sustainable review of paediatric neurosurgery in our region and worked with network colleagues in Southampton and Bristol to develop the Children’s Neurosciences course which has been an immense success and is currently in its third year. After 25 years as a clinical nurse, Charlotte is now looking forward to developing the Surgery in Children ODN and increasing its profile within Thames Valley and Wessex.
